The Note We Put In Each Bible Bag
Hi!I am grateful that you are wanting to hear about the love of God and the grace of his son, Jesus Christ! We wanted to help you do that with what is in the bag. - “More Than a Carpenter” is written by Josh McDowell, formerly an atheist who tried to prove the Bible, God, and Jesus were a fraud. What came out of his extensive research was quite the opposite! Upon reviewing the evidence, Josh is now an apologist and believer for Jesus Christ – true story! A great point about this easy-to-read book is that is requires no faith, no belief in God beforehand. Nor does it use any biblical scriptures. It is based upon common sense logic that makes sense to people who have never read a Bible before.- There is also a Bible in your bag. I recommend to start reading the book of Romans. This was written by Paul who ironically was a persecutor of the church prior to his miraculous conversion on the road to Damascus. Paul was committed and devoted to destroying Christianity while it was in its infancy. Just the mention of his name struck fear in the hearts of the early believers. However, that all changed on the Damascus God intervened and changed Paul’s heart and life. Just like God can do for us if we allow him to do so!
The book of Romans explains the Gospel of Christ which I have laid out its main points below. In summary:1. We ALL are sinners – everyone!2. All of us with a sinful ‘record’ will face eternity in hell separated from God3. If we confess Jesus as our Lord and savior, we can receive God’s grace and forgiveness4. Accepting Jesus makes us clean in the sight of God and part of His family of Heaven!
Romans 3:10There is no one righteous not even one.
Romans 3:23For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9-10If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Romans 10:13Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
I encourage you to read both More Than a Carpenter and the book of Romans. If you feel you want God to manage and provide for your eternal destiny, feel free to ask Jesus to come into your heart. Pray and ask him for forgiveness and repent of any sinful behaviors and let him into your heart to help you change and grow as a Christian! God/Jesus loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.
Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
